In the picture you will see a football, basketball and a volley ball represent certain numbers.

Can you solve the equations and find the value of the missing number?

You can write the equations by substituting;

Basketball by BB,

Football by FB &

Volleyball by VB.

So the equations would become;

1. BB – BB – BB = -10
2. BB – FB = -20
3. FB – VB = 10
4. VB – FB + BB = ?

Solving the first equation we get;

BB – BB – BB = -10

BB = 10

Putting this value in the second equation we get;

BB – FB = -20

10 – FB = -20

Therefore;

FB = 30

Putting this value in third equation we get;

FB – VB = 10

30 – VB = 10

Therefore;

VB = 30 – 10 = 20

Putting all the values in the fourth equation we can find the value of the missing number as;

VB – FB + BB = ?

20 – 30 + 10 = 0

Answer = 0
