As per given information;
A X B = 2
B X C = 6
So we write both the equations in term of B;
A = 2/B
C = 6/B
Substituting this values in A + B + C = 6 we get;
2/B + B + 6/B =6
(2 + B^2 + 6)/B = 6
8 + B^2 = 6B
B^2 – 6B + 8 = 0
(B – 4) (B – 2) = 0
Therefore;
B = 4 or 2
Let’s take value of B as 2
A = 2/2 = 1
C = 6/2 = 3
Therefore;
C x A = 3 x 1 = 3
Answer = 3

a=1
b=2
c=3
You have to solve the quadratic equation for B. Therefore, you cannot just choose the convenient solution, B can equally be both 2 and 4. Thus, there are two solutions to your question. If B=2, AxC=3 and if B=4, AxC=3/4.
