If you calculate the sum of all the rows and columns in which all the 4 numbers are present you will notice that the sum is 15 in all cases.
So to find the missing number
4 + a + 1 + 2 = 15
7 + a = 15
a = 8
Let’s cross check it by checking the column;
5 + a + 1 + 1 = 15
7 + a = 15
Therefore a = 8
Answer = 8 = missing number.
