Two teachers met after a long time
The first teacher asked the 2nd teacher:
“How old is your son?”
The 2nd teacher replied:
“My son is five times as old as my daughter and my wife is five times as old as my son.
I am twice as old as my wife whereas my grandmother, who is celebrating her eighty-first birthday is as old as all of us put together.
How old is the 2nd teacher’s son?
If you get the correct answer, share it with your friends on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social networking sites.
Let us assume the following;
Son’s age = S,
Daughter’s age = D,
Wife’s age = W &
Teacher’s age = T
From the given information we can write the following
S = 5 x D
W = 5 x S
T = 2 x W
Therefore we can also write;
T = 2 x (5 x S) = 10 x S
We also know;
Grand mother’s age = 81 = S + D + W + T
Substituting the values in terms of S we get;
81 = S + (1/5 x S) + (5 x S) + 10 x S
81 = (5S + S + 25S + 50S)/5
81 x 5 = 81 x S
S = 5
The teacher’s son’s is 5 years old.
